Dimash The Singer 2017 Performances – Hunan TV[]

Singer 2017 (Chinese: 歌手; pinyin: Gēshǒu) was the 5th season of Chinese television series of the rebranded version of reality show broadcast I Am a Singer (Chinese: 我是歌手; pinyin: Wǒ Shì Gēshǒu). The competition was opened to well-known professional singers from the music industry across worldwide, and featured a rotating cast of singers performing each week, usually with seven singers, who performed in front of a 500-member audience. The votes cast from the audience were the sole determinant for the results and one singer who received the fewest votes is eliminated while a new singer substituted in place of that singer, featuring a constantly changinng lineup of artist throughout the series.

The rebranded season premiered on January 21, 2017, on Hunan Television, and ended on April 22, 2017. Hong Kong singer Sandy Lam was named the winner of the season, with Dimash being the runner-up, and Taiwanese band Lion landing third place.

EPISODE 1 - SOS d’un terrien en détresse[]

In the 1st round, there were 8 singers: Dimash Kudaibergen, Tia Ray, Michael Wong, Hins Cheung (who withdrew just after taping, but before airing the episode, thus his performance was edited out of the episode), Teresa Carpio, Lion, Tan Jing, and Sandy Lam. Dimash was first to perform with French song "SOS d'un terrien en détresse" (ENG: A Soul's Plea for Help).

"SOS d'un terrien en détresse" is a French song composed by Michel Berger and written by Luc Plamondon in 1978 for the rock opera Starmania.It was performed for the first time by Daniel Balavoine. Arrenged by Kubert Leung and sang by Dimash, this song became so captivating, heart breaking, and ... well ... perfect. Dimash sang as a 4th contestant in the second episode. For a change, he sang in Russian. Opera 2 is a song composed and originally sang by Vitas. Dimash added new twist at the end of the song, and again left audience in awe. NoniShow YouTube upload reached over 13.5 millions of views (as per March 2020).
